Mentee Benefits & Responsibilities

Who is a mentee?
A mentee is current student or alumni of MNNIT wanting to learn from experience of other alumni who has been through a similar path and are recognized as role models in their position or area. A mentee could be a current student overwhelmed with many higher education options in India and abroad and wants to discuss with a mentor who has been through this process for valuable tips. A mentee could be a final year student or a recent graduate looking for his/her first break or an alumni planning to switch job, who all want to get the insights into a particular job, company, and/or industry from a trusted and experienced mentor.


Benefits for a current student in having a mentor:

Receive advice on how to plan and prepare for getting admission into a post-graduate institute in India or abroad

Learn about the requirements for a particular job, company, or industry; and how you can prepare yourself

Provide a perspective on long-term career planning

Receive honest and informal feedback

Provide an outlet to discuss concerns

Expand growth in your sense of competence, identity, and effectiveness as a professional

Learn how to connect with other alumni and contribute to MNNIT strong alumni network
   
Mentee responsibilities:

Setup a communication channel with mentor
– email, chat, phone call, personal meeting (if local) etc.

Present needs in an articulate way to make most effective use of mentor's time

Maintain confidentiality

Listen actively

Take responsibility for own growth and success
