Alumni Association Name Registered
In our pursuit to build a global alumni association for MNNIT/MNREC, it is important that we lay down a solid foundation for the association. The first step in the process was to come up with a name that represents us well. The working committee of the association went though an iterative process to finalize the name. We are pleased to announce that we decided on "MNNIT Alumni Sangam". The word "sangam" represent the place of institute and it also means "gathering" or "coming together". In other words, it is a place where alumni from MNNIT come together. We also took care of certainly formalities. Rahul Gaur got the name registered with the county of Santa Clara, obtained tax id from IRS , and opened a bank account. With the completion of this milestone, we will now be looking into registering our alumni association as a tax-exempt non-profit charity organization. It will provide many benefits to the association and its members. |

Expansion of Alumni Association
Since the formalization of the alumni association, the objective has been to create an umbrella organization for a global network where local chapters join hands with each other but continue to operate independently. There are already some active chapters in India and abroad. We are helping create some more. We are also in communication with some alumni in US and India to join the umbrella.
